Dear Friends:

The year has gone by - and the membership dues for the Friends are now due for renewal for 2012.  The annual Membership Meeting will be January 25, 2012 in the Reading Room of the History Center.  There will be refreshments, and we will be visited by the Spirits of the Past, the re-enactors from the Fremont County Heritage Commission Sesquicentennial celebration participants that have helped celebrate our heritage in the county.

Please plan to attend our annual meeting on January 25, 2012 - Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm.

 The Royal Gorge Regional Museum & History Center, opened a new exhibit on Saturday, February 26, 2011, to commemorate the 150^th anniversary of the creation of Colorado Territory, with Fremont County as one of the original 17 counties.  The exhibit features more than 100 photographs that document the history of Fremont County since 1861, and it will be on display throughout the year.

The museum and history center invites anyone who has historical materials that pertain to Fremont County to contact us.  We continually seek items that help us tell the history of this region, either through exhibits or research materials.  We encourage our members to participate by bringing their Fremont County Memorabilia to this pre-exhibit preview.

Calendar of Events

Board meetings are held the third Thursday of each month  at the Royal Gorge Regional Museum & History Center, 612 Royal Gorge Blvd., Cañon City, Colorado 81212  Meeting start at 3:00 pm in the basement.
