There are some wonderful pictures of the Royal Gorge including several by Henry Jackson. In this picture President Theodore Roosevelt is seen standing in railroad track!The hanging bridge and the railroad were constructed well before the bridge!Many historic photographs are of this hanging bridge. Construction of the rail line through the Royal Gorge was a difficult engineering exercise and today one of the original elements, the hanging bridge still remains.
