The July program presented by the Fremont-Custer Historical Society was Sherry Johns, local author, and her research, pictures and history of Buckskin Joe Gulch (in Park County), and the Buckskin Joe Western Town that was built by promoters in Fremont County on the Royal Gorge Road.
Curt Sorenson was presented as Buckskin Joe, and presented a characterization of the man Joe higgenbotham, who was the original Buckskin Joe of Park County.

Meetings for members are programs presented with historical content at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church on No. Sheridan Ave., Canon City, CO These meetings are held six times a year and everyone is invited. Refreshments are served. Meetings start at 2:00 pm
Board meeting are the first Friday of every month at the Michaels On Main at 10:00 am Everyone is welcome.
The newsletter is published and sent to all members prior to the program weekend.
